Massage therapy offers a myriad of benefits for both physical and mental well-being. It promotes relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety by lowering cortisol levels and enhancing the release of feel-good neurotransmitters. Improved blood circulation from massage delivers oxygen and nutrients to tissues, aiding in muscle recovery and reducing pain. The tactile stimulation of massage activates the body's natural painkillers, and endorphins, providing relief from chronic pain and tension. Additionally, massage can enhance flexibility, joint mobility, and posture. The overall effect is a harmonious balance between mind and body, fostering improved sleep, reduced muscle soreness, and heightened emotional well-being. Regular sessions contribute to a holistic approach to health, supporting individuals in managing the demands of modern life and promoting a sense of relaxation and vitality.

Absolutely, massage for children is so beneficial especially if they are highly active and heavily involved in sports or feel overly anxious and stressed. Just like our adult bodies, injuries and stress can impact our little ones just the same. Flex and Flow offers massage for children ages 5 and up, there is a chair in the room and a parent/guardian is always recommended to stay with the young children.

The frequency of massage sessions depends on individual needs, lifestyle, and health goals. For general wellness and stress management, scheduling a massage once a month is a common recommendation. However, those dealing with chronic pain or specific health conditions may benefit from more frequent sessions, possibly on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. It's essential to communicate openly with a qualified massage therapist to determine a personalized schedule that aligns with individual health objectives.

The duration of a massage session can vary. Here is our recommended breakdown.
20-45 minutes: Very Specific tool, modality, or technique on a small and localized area. Example(s): follow-up or specific treatment plan on a shoulder injury or full IASTM treatment.
60 minutes: Ideal for a full upper or lower body treatment. Or a very general Swedish/Relaxation massage. Note that with a 60-minute massage full body treatments with emphasis on certain areas will typically result in loss of quality time in other areas or skipped areas due to time restraints.
75 minutes: Perfect sweet spot for a full-body massage with no emphasis on any specific area. Its also one of the best therapeutic options for upper or lower body therapeutic massage with emphasis on 1-2 areas within the same general area.
90 minutes: Want to experience full body relaxation and bliss, the 90-minute full-body massage is perfect for you. It is also ideal for a thorough therapeutic treatment utilizing a variety of methods such as myofascial release, IASTM, cupping, and ice massage.

Your massage is all about you, other than clarifications on pressure, pain, medical history, or when it’s time to flip over; you determine how much conversation you’d like during the massage. For a lot of people, this is the one piece of time carved out just for them, and if you want to spend it in a blissful silence we’re always happy to make this the best experience for you!
-
Clients often ask about tipping practices in the massage industry. While the thought is appreciated, Flex and Flow strive hard to follow behind other medical practitioners such as Chiros and physiotherapists and therefore we currently do not accept tips at this time. If you really want to tip, tip off your friends and family for the incredible massage you received, and be sure to book your next appointment before you leave!

Life happens and sometimes you need to cancel your massage appointment, we get it. We just ask that you let us know 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. A $50 no-show fee may be charged to your credit card for appointments canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment.
